In this fifth book in the "Adventures of Arnold A. Airplane", Old Bert the Bomber, a WWII Veteran airplane, has been refurbished and is now teaching younger planes at the Hangar 1 Flight School. One evening Old Bert sees a plane in distress in a storm and helps her and her children by providing a warm hangar, fuel and a warm place in his heart. As in all the books in this series, the rhyming prose is entertaining and the illustrations whimsical and colorful while assisting parents and teachers in providing lessons on morals and values to their children. "Christine the C-17" teaches unselfishness and loving and caring for others.
The hail started falling with such a great force,
their little wings started hurting, really hurting of course.

Review
The year is 1980, a family broken, disheartened and battered by a storm is grounded on Old Bert’s runway. Old Bert
and his wife Betty Bonanza take the little family under their wings, providing repairs, rest and protection from the
storm. The love and bond that is formed between the two families continues to this very day! A very valuable lesson
is learned about loving and caring for others.
It is with great pleasure that I recommend this fifth book of the “Adventures of Arnold. A. Airplane – Christine the C17”.
As a retired school teacher of 35 years, I’ve read hundreds, possibly thousands, of children’s books and in my opinion
Bill’s books rival the best.
